Yeah you can totally fill up on downloadable podcasts. It’s made me really lazy, I basically never go get albums any more.

I listen to a ton of XLR8R and Beats in Space these days.

Yep. The solution IMO is pretty obvious, which is “active” collaborative filtering.

That is, rather than them automatically detecting users that are “like me”, let me manually pick other users that I think have good taste (such as my friends) and get ratings and recommendations primarily from that subset.

I’d like to see our current tax rate just get collected. The people in the 35% bracket actually pay something like 25% on average because they are very good at exploiting the tax law. I feel like removing deductions might be more politically palatable than general raises.

In the mean time, taxes on the poor already *have* been increased, in the form of rises in sales tax and other fee collections all over the US, as well as cuts in funding and services to the poor.

Hah, I did one I did one! I got the ftp uploader thingy working. It was mostly a modification of my existing batch file for photo uploading, but stripped down. Now when I have movies ready to upload, I just drag them onto the batch file and up they go. Handy tip for calling one batch file from another, %* is all of the args that you passed to the first batch file.

I also found EZ Handrail at Home Depot. I think I’ll probably use that for the porch railing solution. It’s fairy cheap and looks decent and key: EASY TO INSTALL.

Fractional personal assistant service (like, you pay for about 4 hours of a personal assistant’s time per week). Run it off cheap labor like a maid service. A personal assistant shouldn’t really require hardly any training at all.. We could be meeeeeellionaires.

Yeah I think about that a lot. I feel like I could be a lot more happy and productive if I could just relax and good off in my time off without worrying “shit do I have something on my todo list I need to be doing now?”.
